Everything the pd filed was basically empty, never any supporting info & so got nowhere because of that. Veneu was moved all the way to downstairs bc someone tried bribing the judge. Judge & pd were both charged with bribery not long after his trial. Courthouse of trial had family working there & the family was well known in town, couldn't get change of venue to another town tho.
I have a loved one who is serving a life sentence. The lawyer he was given railroaded him. My loved one wasn't even present for his trial. He has mental illness and they knew this so he wasn't aware of what to do. In his paper work, it shows he had due process. When this was brought to the lawyer's attention he dropped the case. No one came to visit my love one to prepare him for his case. His case has so many discrepancies in it. We need help immediately. He has been gone 5 years now. His mental illness has gotten worst. I have served 23 years on a life sentence as a first offender because the lawyer got my money saw me once in five months coerced me to plead guilty when I told him it was self defense and told me I'd be out in six years. He's been disbarred since then because the bar said he was incompetent to practice law.
He was seeing so many clients that he only saw me once in five months then told me to plead guilty to first degree murder or risk getting the death penalty which l couldn't get because in Alabama that wasn't a option for the crime of intentional murder. I was indicted for intentional murder but the court accepted the plea to murder in the first degree the offense the attorney wrote on the explanation of rights sheet and then has repeatedly ruled that counsel wasn't ineffective and that I understood and knew what I was pleading guilty too and denied all my post conviction petitions
